What I Wore Sunday-vol. 18

Hello everyone!  Today was our second Sunday at our new church and it was great.  One of the people we met last week at the luncheon ended up sitting right in front of us, I met another nurse at the blood pressure screenings, and another young couple introduced themselves to us after Mass.  Things are going very well there so far.

I'm still deciding on where the best photo spot is at this new house so please excuse the overgrown grass today.  We'll be borrowing a lawn mower from our landlord since our yard is approximately 500 square feet :-)  I think this particularly corner is a great place for a St. Francis statue, no?
Halter Dress: Speechless (picked it up at Goody's 9-ish years ago)
Shrug: The LOFT
Sandals: Target (these are just the white version of the pewter ones from last week--again, walking shoes)
Pearl solitaire necklace and earrings set: Shop in Cozumel, Mexico

My favorite part of this dress isn't really visible in this photo so here is a close up of the lower left part:
There's this great detail here with the flower/bow and what almost looks like those pioneer hems to keep letting out as I grow (I won't)

Yesterday we decided to venture out to the Delaware Water Gap and do some hiking.  Nothing too hardcore, just some light hiking, several waterfalls, a picnic, and a Ritter Sport.  It had been quite awhile since we had done anything similar (basically since Europe) so it was fun to do it in English :-)  We also stopped by a "traditional Independence Day celebration" at Millbrook Village.  Unfortunately, it was mostly over by the time we got there, but we saw a few things and walked around.

Thought my dress was old?  That shirt is the first gift I ever got him.  Eleven years ago :-)

  1. Awesome about people reaching out to you at a new parish. That is something I worry about when I think about moving to a new area some day.

    1. Yeah, we were super excited! We've been the new people A LOT and it really varies location to location how friendly people are.

  2. Love the detail and fabric of the dress, and the shrug! It's so nice when you are new at a parish to have people greet you and remember you. I haven't had the best of luck with that myself, which should mean that I am more sensitive to others, but with rowdy kids, I am sadly preoccupied most of the time. I should make more of an effort to notice who is new.

Hope you have a lovely rest of your Sunday!

    1. Thanks, Rakhi! I know it's hard with kids, but know that any effort you make means sooo much. It's rare anymore that people seem to notice us so we felt really blessed by this couple today that they wanted to seek us out.

  7. Sounds like you are settling in nicely at your new parish. Yay for making new friends! I love the back detail on your dress. What a lovely surprise. I am ahuge fan of the red/white print as well. One of my favorite color combos.
