In my physiological "garden"

Hello dear readers,

I know that I really left many of you hanging there with my pregnancy announcement and then just kind of checked back out again.  Being pregnant really has had very little to do with my absence in blogging.  This particular absence, probably my longest ever, has actually not left me feeling guilty though.  I actually don't think about it much except when I go to call myself a blogger and wonder if I can anymore!

I have two part-time jobs now (nursing and Creighton) and with all my doctors appointments I think I'm at least PRN at that "job".  I'm justifiably busy these days.

But here's more about Baby...I'm 18 weeks now and I'm due the end of October.  Because of an antibody that I have related to my lupus (SSA for medical geeks out there) there is a risk of congenital heart block developing.  Last Friday I began going for weekly fetal echocardiograms to check for this.  If it happens (chances are on the smaller side, but the chances of what happened with Malachi were even smaller) it might be able to be treated in-utero with steroids or a pacemaker will be necessary.  In other words, it is treatable so I am not freaking out.  But I still have been meaning to ask for your specific prayers in this matter and I guess it's been hard to bring up because I don't want to seem dramatic.

I would also ask for your specific prayers for my good kidney function at this time as well.

I'll be back with more at another time, but I am headed out soon for my weekly scan :-)
