Quick Takes-vol. 30

--- 1 ---
I am due a week from today!  So many people have been sweet to tell me that they miss my posts--sorry to be so MIA lately.  In all honesty though, I haven't really noticed the lack of blogging in my life.  I am still keeping up with all my blogging friends, though I haven't been commenting much at all.  Thanks to all who have checked in and let me know that you are praying for me/us.
--- 2 ---
Everything pregnancy-related has gone really well.  Thanks for the all the prayers related to the echocardiograms.  Looks like he is just fine and will just need an EKG after he is born.  The little guy is head down but not really showing any signs of being interested in leaving just yet.  But I'm fine with that for now.  I really haven't found myself at that point many women talk about where they are just "done" with it all.  Other good news is that I passed the glucose tolerance test on the second try (though I did kinda throw up...) and I'm GBS negative!
--- 3 ---
I ended up having 3 lovely showers.  One in NC thrown by my mother's friends when we visited in August, one by my friends in September, and a sprinkle of baby/children's books from my co-workers just a few weeks ago.
--- 4 ---
I'm going to be making an honest attempt at my Creighton practitioner certification exam on November 15 so your prayers that I am even lucid for the 6 hour exam are much appreciated.  I have absolutely no idea what to expect for what taking such an exam will be like so soon after having the baby, but it appears that postponing until February is not my best financial option so I'm going to give it a go!
--- 5 ---
I'm slowly but surely checking all those last minute tasks off my list--I got a haircut yesterday, took Lilly to the vet on Monday, I'm getting the car fixed today...Hopefully I get my freezer meals made today and tomorrow.  I'm making a quiche, a lasagna, and chicken spaghetti to add to the frozen stew and pizza dough we already have.  It's not a lot I guess, but it's a good start.
--- 6 ---
Does anyone have a good recommendation of a recording of the Rosary I could find on iTunes to listen to while in labor?  I'd really like one with the Joyful mysteries if possible.
--- 7 ---
Rather than make promises about how I'll be back soon with back-posts on all the things we've been up to and promises about how I'm going to be better about updating in the near future, I'll just say thanks for not going away and that I hope to do something similar to the above eventually!  For now, here are some recent photos:

  1. Oh, you look fantastic! So excited for you and your husband and Lilly to meet your baby boy! Prayers for all of you. :)

  2. I was JUST thinking about you, remembering that you were due any day now! I can't wait to see your little guy. Please utilize instagram more often ;)

  3. I have been wondering if you've had the baby yet. I know it's a bit early still, but some babies come early. I never reached the "done" phase. And Lucia was 8 days "late". I just enjoyed being pregnant - I hope you are enjoying it too. You and the baby are in my prayers as labor and delivery approach. God bless you!

  4. Girl! You look great:) I was wondering if you had the baby yet...sooo excited for you!!

  5. You are just such a cute pregnant lady! I love that photo of you two on the swings. Beautiful. And I'm so glad to hear that all is going well! Best of luck with labor and delivery - I'm so excited for you to hold that little bundle of joy in your arms so incredibly soon!!!

Thanks for visiting! I love to get comments and feedback on my posts so thanks for taking a minute to say hello!
